Butter, meat, cheeses, speck and many other products arrive at our kitchen directly from the organic farms of the Badia Valley, ensuring absolute freshness and highest quality. It's from the local tastes and scents that are born our famous dishes evoking the forgotten recipes of the past. Scrumptious are the homemade knödel (dumplings) and cheese gnocchi. To the must-tastes also belong pasta, pastry (including flavoursome strudels), ice-creams, sorbets and jams – all produced in-house! Flavoursome discovery of the Ladin cuisine and magic candlelight dinners
Every week our spacious dinner room hosts unmissable culinary performances that alternate fascinating candlelight evenings with traditional Ladin dinners, which highlight the ancient recipes and the best specialities of Alta Badia. It's a great opportunity to taste rustic bales (dumplings) and crispy turtes (fried pasta pockets with different fillings), succulent goulash and appetizing polenta, delicious spätzle and lots of other tasty treats, accompanied by a rich selection of starters, salads, farm cheeses and homemade desserts. All these delicacies are often served directly in the kitchen, as a "buffet from the stoves". Here, in the chef Karl's taste lab, he will be your personal guide in this tour across the world of Ladin flavours, helping you with advice and explanations. To complete this unique experience, enjoy the melodious sounds of live music, while the bravest among the guests can even try to play one of the typical Tyrolean instruments called the "devil's violin" (Teufelsgeige).

Our generous breakfast buffet fascinates with a wide choice of South Tyrolean cold cuts and cheeses, eggs and fresh bread, yoghurt and cereals, homemade jams and pastry, fresh fruit and local farm butter. Various juices, teas and herbal infusions complete the choice of drinks from the bar, including different coffee types. To whet the appetite, just have a look at the breath-taking panorama that opens from the breakfast room and sweeps from the ridge of Fanes to the rocky faces of the Gardenaccia massif.
The choice of fine wines
The wine list of the Serena Hotel surprises with a choice among the most renowned wine brands, offering a sophisticated selection of the best Italian and foreign wines, but the key parts deservedly belong to the wines of South Tyrol. The white ones, such as Pinot Grigio and Pinot Bianco, Gewürztraminer and Chardonnay, are fresh like mountain air and varied like South Tyrolean landscapes. The red ones, such as indigenous Lagrein and Schiava, have a character as unique and noble as the peaks of the Dolomites that can be seen from most vineyards. They will certainly be the best companions for our traditional South Tyrolean dishes.
